Coffey County is the only Lake Region County to operate its own Subtitle D landfill. Coffey County also has an active recycling program and household hazardous waste collection facility.

COFFEY COUNTY RECYCLING

Coffey County operates a permanent recycling facility east of Burlington where residents can drop off their recyclables. County employees provide curbside recycling pickup for city residents and a recycling pickup service for businesses.

Items accepted include: aluminum, tin cans, glass, magazines, catalogs, paper, newspaper, cardboard, #1 thru #7 plastics, textiles, shoes and books. Click here for a link to the Coffey County Recycling Brochure.
